Captain died Captain the dog that defied death
For the past 11 years he visited his master's grave.
The animal had been ill for some time but that did not prevent him from going to the cemetery every day.
The history of "Capitán" became known six years ago, when in the Cordoba city of Villa Carlos Paz they noticed that the dog had been visiting his master's grave since 2007. Today it became known that the German shepherd died at the age of 15.
The puppy had reached the end of his life expectancy. He was walking with difficulty and had lost part of his vision. In spite of all the problems that affected his health, nothing prevented him from remaining with his owner until his last days.
Veterinarian Cristhian Stempels said,"We could have put him in the hospital, but it was to die in the vet's, so we preferred to leave him and take care of him in the cemetery, where he lived and felt calm.
"Captain" lived with Damien, 13 years old in 2005 and had been a gift from his father, Miguel Guzman who died a year later. With the death of Damien's father, the dog moved away from the house and no one linked the two facts until one day they found the dog living in the cemetery.
The surprise
Damien's mother had visited in 2012. Big was her surprise when she found the dog next to her husband's grave. When they wanted to take him home, the animal simply refused and remained faithful to his master until the end.
Over half of dog owners include their dogs in annual holiday photos.
