Let's help animals in Venezuela

in #dog6 years ago

If you're my follower, or even if you're not and give a brief tour of my post, may realize that I love animals, and that dogs, above all, are my weakness and the love of my life. That is why today, I have decided to make a call for help all members of the Steemit community, to join my cause, and help me help those who need it most here in Venezuela.

If you search for "Crisis in Venezuela" In Google you will realize that Venezuela currently suffers one of the worst crises in its contemporary history, Venezuelans are dying. It is a true humanitarian crisis and it's not an exaggeration to affirm it. In Venezuela, more and more people are facing the same problem: money is not enough. Neither for the meals of the day, the medicines and much less, for the maintenance of the pets, which has caused a growing abandonment of dogs in the streets and crisis in the zoos. Most of the dogs die of hunger and take over the corners of the streets full of garbage, blocking the Venezuelans who are looking for their own food there.
For those who don't read international news, and happen to ask: How is Socialism of the XXI Century working in Venezuela? Here is a summary:

Crisis Venezuela.jpg
In Venezuela, no individual escapes the devastating tragedy. All, in one way or another, suffer from the results of the State's political criminals. The economic situation of the country is bottoming out. There is a severe shortage of food, medicine and electricity that not only affects a few, affect the entire nation. Added to that, but not alien, insecurity is increasing to levels that are scary. Kidnappings are the order of the day, and now the criminals, in view of the low value of the bolivar (currency of Venezuela), ask for dollars in exchange for the life of the victim.
This post, however, is not to list everything that is wrong in the country because that would be a lot, rather I seek to find people, with possibilities and heart, who can help animals in Venezuela in these dark moments. Feeding a pet in Venezuela can cost up to 17 minimum wages, the complex humanitarian emergency in Venezuela, condemns suffering and death to about five million animals that are in a street situation. In the midst of the crisis, dogs are losing more and more space in garbage dumps and around fast food sales (places where they get much of what they eat) at the hands of an army of people looking for food and waste in the waste, with the diminution of the leftovers that the people take to the street and the overpopulation. In the struggle to survive, not only lose ground to "feed" or take refuge, even his life, hanging by a thread. From the moment they are thrown into the street, the abuse begins.

Perritos en Venezuela.jpg
Disorientation and fear is the first state of helplessness they face. Almost simultaneously suffer stress, rejection and attacks of canines that have been wandering for longer. They are saddened by the abandonment of their loved ones, the confusion of not understanding what happens, the cold, hunger, thirst and abuse of human beings. The amount of doggies in the street increased due to the absence of sense of belonging that we should have with them and the serious situation that Venezuela is going through. It's easier to leave them without a roof. On the same day they can be run over, beaten, burned or sexually abused. There are people so indolent that they even leave the country and leave them locked up in their homes without water or food.
The acquisition of food is one of the greatest difficulties they face and the trash is transformed into a lifesaver that sooner or later ends up sinking them. From the dirt, they eat food remains such as chicken bones, beef, pasta and rice, diapers, sanitary papers and dead animals. For the desperation of eating "whatever", the furry consume in the middle of the eagerness remains of glass, poison, plastic, cardboard, anime and wood. To find something to eat (hopefully) or a shelter to "rest" or the home from which they were thrown, they face multiple scenarios that test their resilience capabilities

Avoiding the dangers of the streets and human evil, daily the dogs that wander in the streets can get to undertake walkings that vary between four streets and 10 kilometers. Along the journey they are forced to travel spend their energy - which comes from body fat and muscle tissue - which, coupled with poor diet, aggravates the picture of malnutrition suffered. The metabolic processes are altered and causes problems with insulin and glucose, the heat season suffers alterations, high temperatures can cause burns and wounds in their pads, dehydration, heat shocks that produce tremors, disorientation and palpitations, are exposed to more risks, they consume all their energy which prevents them from moving and after a long agony they die.
In the streets they must try to avoid the stones thrown at them by children who have not been educated, rejections in squares, residential areas and food sales. They face shooting, cruelty, and rains, which can cause them to colds and cause hypothermia. Even people mistreat them by throwing burned oil or gasoline supposedly to "cure" them scabies. Without a home, diseases are the order of the day. His immune system is on the ground, they have traumas, open wounds full of worms that emerge from his skin, damage to the nervous system, skin diseases due to lack of hygiene, infections, sleep disorders and sticker tumor. The fights they have with other dogs for food, territory or a female in heat, also cause wounds that are not treated and cause death.
The environmental crisis that Venezuela is going through is another problem that hits the dogs and threatens them from different sides. When exposed to environmental pollution, they can suffer from bronchitis, cough, asthma, mucosal irritation, inflammation in the respiratory tract, allergies, respiratory difficulties, lung tumors, alterations in the blood-brain barrier, degeneration of cortical neurons and accumulation of groups of proteins associated with the development of Alzheimer's in people. Dogs, which have a very sensitive smell, move at ground level and inhale pollutant particles, such as lead, which usually accumulate on the surface. In addition, in times when there is little rainfall, their respiratory problems increase, since pollution is even more concentrated in the atmosphere. The noise pollution adds to list of difficulties and causes them fear, anxiety and stress. His hearing, which is much more developed than that of humans, suffers from honks, sirens, firecrackers, alarms, and protest (which in Venezuela were recorded more than 9,787 in 2017 according to the Venezuelan Observatory of Social Conflict (OVCS) and 4,191 protests so far in 2018), among others.
Despite the fact that in the country there is the Law for the Protection of Free Domestic Fauna in Captivity (approved in 2010) that establishes as serious infractions the abuse, acts of cruelty, practices of mutilation, abandonment, negligence, lack of hygienic-sanitary conditions , exposure to food regimes not in accordance with their requirements and jobs that cause immobilization and consequent damage or pain, that law is a "dead letter"
It is the first time in the history of Venezuela that such a scene exists, in the streets you can see Mestizos, German Shepherds, Rottweiler, Terrier, Boxer, Golden Retriever, Cocker, Saint Bernard, Mastiff, Weimaraner and Poodle, which are the most abandoned and mistreated, because when they were puppies used as gifts.

With the passing of days the dogs here try to make groups to shelter and get food. Some people hold out their hands and offer them food, but when they arrive sick or with purulent wounds of worms they are frightened. They can look fat, but they are full of parasites, the humblest families multiply the little they have so as not to abandon them, their fur is not shiny and the anguishing routine is overwhelming and that is why I ask for help here for them.

Thanks to Steemit I have been able to continue helping street dogs despite the horrible situation of the country independently and as a member of the founding that I belong, and in some cases to foundations of other states that implore for some help for their rescued. The money raised with this post will serve the protectionists of Venezuela to vaccinate, deworm and sterilize our rescued dogs and cats, as well as to pay pensions because we are not always able to find a temporary home and constant visits to the veterinarian of each animal, In addition, the abandoned animals are sterilized so that they do not bring more homeless puppies to the world, and that also means an important expense in surgeries, medicines and cures.

They have no voice, they can not defend themselves and it is our moral obligation to take care of them. They are four-legged angels beaten by this cruel world.
Thank you for your support for the dogs of Venezuela

Well there are so many things to change in this world, but im so touched that you chose to help the least defended of our society, namely the poor now unwanted fourlegged " friends" that people left to the streets of your country ! They are all angels and deserve the love and respect that you give back to them ! )

The animals suffer because the humans cannot sort out their country and economics....
It definately is a sad situation..Looks like you are doing great work there - Keep going folks...

Yes, it's a pity that they pay for someone else's actions.
Unfair and debasing to me.
