TRAGEDY struck on May 25, 2018 when unknown men entered the Jugomaro Predator Park in Limpopo, South Africa and poisoned three lions and a tiger using a common poison known as two-step.
The poison is referred to as two-step due to its severe and fast acting potency - in smaller animals, some are able to take two steps before they eventually die.
Park founder, Justin Fernandes, awoke to the sound of his dogs barking and upon investigation, found that two big cats, a lion and a tiger named Elvis and Taariq had died.
It was later established that poisoned meat had been thrown into the enclosures, and then consumed by the animals.
While investigating the enclosures, Mr Fernandes found that the remaining two other lions, Kai and Hercules had also been poisoned.
They later also succumbed to the poison. One tablespoon of the poison, according to the Citizen is enough to kill an adult rhino.
Lions and tigers are often killed in order to have their paws or coats cut off and sold on the black market where they fetch a hefty price.

A fundraiser has now been organised to aid in beefing up security at the park in the hopes of stopping incidents such as this from happening again.

maybe they killers were hungry its Africa......and that's meat too so although i sympathize i understand ....should poor people have to kill our beloved animals to survive and why isn't the SA government helping ?
