I appreciate you asking but the earnings are not enough especially now that steem is below $1. I think that is the main reason why most of the people I know had been inactive here. The engagement from friends is what keeps me active here I hope they will remain
I came here for rewards but stayed for friends... Now rewards are just a nice bonus. People are always first. Otherwise I could just delegate all my stake to some bidbot and would earn maybe 20 % APR. But... The community would be very sad. People from Venezuela couldn't by milk or cheese.

Yes in general there is engagement I see although on some days there is hardly any.
Commenting on other people blogs increases engagement, I can see this.
