Steem-Engine VS SMTs or Steem-Engine AND SMTs?
Steemit, Inc. seems in a hurry to announce they shifted focus entirely to SMTs.
I think SMTs are still needed, but would have been much more useful at least half a year if not a year ago.
In the meantime Steem-Engine filled in the void.
But...
Steem-Engine has the ability to develop quickly and adapt easier to changes, but it is more centralized.
SMTs, even after they will be rolled out, will still have a slower pace of releases (you can't hard fork Steem often without consequences), but they will have the same decentralization as Steem.
So, they both have advantages and disadvantages. But the interesting part is one's advantage is the other's disadvantage and the other way around.
I heard enough times from people with better life experiences than me, that it's better to focus on your strong points, than to try to improve on your inabilities.
Is this rule applicable for projects too?
What do you think will happen? Will the two projects actually find a way to work together? Or will they try to compete against each other?

That's an option too... But that can turn into a friendly competition or a fake cooperation.
