The thing about dpoll is, you can convert your question/poll into a full-blown post because dpoll automatically shows up in the feeds of your followers as a post, as well as on the new page. If you treat it more as a blog rather than just a poll or question, so will others.

How much more, who knows. You might not want to spend an inordinate amount of time prettying up the post, but better than just leaving it as just a question.

I've just created two polls so far, but I have answered a bunch of questions. Most people like to answer and that's it, which is great for collecting data or feedback, but not so great for engagement. So, I've been trying to ask people, if they haven't already offered it, to provide some reasoning behind their choice. Which means I don't only ask for it in the post or options, but as a comment on their choice. I think it's actually yielded quite a bit of information I would not have otherwise, and I believe it fosters meaningful engagement.

Those two things, I believe, will help foster community and help build dpoll.
