Do You Consider @steemmonsters Cards & Packs To Be A Good Hedge During The Fall of STEEM Price?
STEEM-Engine still doesn't offer charts. But I have been following the prices of the cards and BETA (which can be converted to Beta Packs). BETA has been trading around $1.70 - $1.80 range for the most part with temporary deviations of about 5 cents from this range.
- STEEM went from over 43 cents to under 13 cents in a matter of 3 months.
- It's a total downward trend with no clear bottom in sight
- Many @steemmonster card prices have actually increased during the same time
- You can earn extra income through the cards (DEC + Reward Cards + Delegations)

I wrote a post almost a year ago, I think, on SBD and how it was, at the time, being inflated to get back to its intended price. Today we sit on the opposite side of the scale. SBD coins are being burnt at a steady pace to get the price back to $1.
Price as we stand is $0.63 which leaves $0.37 to get back to $1 (the intended SBD price). If you'd like a hedge, there is a no-brainer 60% gain that can only blow up in your face if this entire system goes to shit.
Well said. I just think @steemmonsters Beta Cards/Packs will have bigger gains in a much smaller time frame. They are not making anymore of those cards.
I bought one of the original Monster Manager packs based on a pledge....are they worth anything?
I haven't tried any of them but I think you ca redeem them for cards. Cards can be worth few cents to few hundred dollars.

I bought the Beta Starter Set for 36.408 Steem on 2018.12.30, and I am already in profit with Steem Monsters/Splinterlands. I sold and I am selling Steem Monsters/Splinterlands cards and Dark Energy Crystals (DEC).
Those will probably be worth a lot more in the future. Wait for the bull market and the Beta Packs run out and new packs come in.
Too late for that. I already sold most of my Steem Monsters/Splinterlands cards. I also sold 1 Beta Silvershield Archers card today (2019.09.26) for $0.013 USD (0.093 Steem).
