Did an advertisement on a website or embedded in a video ever encouraged you to purchase something?
I would be curious, what is the point is these disturbing and resource wasting things... And is it worth to create nightmarish news to show these things.
- Yes, there was a time, when I saw it, then I bought it immediately.
- Yes, but I deeply checked whether I need that or not, is there any better thing than that, etc.
- No, if l want to buy something, I always look for a specific thing, and I decide based on its specifications.
- Other, I will write it down.

I have AdBlock on most websites. When AdBlock is not available, I only watch the needed 5 seconds of an ad before skipping.
The only time I watch ads is when I am genuinely interested in the thing they are promoting (Lately, it was political campaigns for me)
I use Adblock Plus. Some of the websites are detecting adblockers, so they write that they are blocking you from accessing the content on the website, but sometimes they do not actually block you from accessing the content. They only hide the content from you.
You can block the blocking elements. You can also try disabling JS.
By the way, there is Anti-Adblock Killer and Nano Defender.

No, because I'm most of the time low on budget, and those products that are advertised are not the cheapest on the market. But it does affect me in the long run. After encountering many samsung (or any other well-advertised product) I tend to think they're really good and worth their high cost.
Also I do lots of researches before buying things.

I think that advertising is also not about encouraging customers to buy immediately. Rather, it is about making the brand so well known that people unconsciously trust it and take it into account in their buying decision.
