This art wishes to convey what the eyes and hearts of victims cannot verbally express. July 23, 2017 a City here was attacked and held hostage by extremists. Many innocent people were killed and beheaded.
I made this art for a national art competition (SIBOL national art competition) the theme was about this, the siege of Marawi City.
I am glad to be part of a national art community which decided to raise awareness on this. Hoping that it will be resolved.
We cannot ignore what will all affect us.
We must strive to attain peace and settle differences and live in the belief that there is one love between all of us.
I used colored pencils and colored ink pens.

The first picture that i saw of this news was i saw a photo of a city burning in the night. Thats what i drew here.
Marawi city here in mindanao, philippines has a very high population of muslims.
Many people were devastated to hear such a thing took place. Many muslims and christians were killed alike.
The rebel group took over the city.

I hope for more peace and understanding for all of us.
