I havent read the Green Knight story, but sounds interesting~

Didn't actually mean to make him androgynous, but I do draw in Shoujo anime style a lot. Like, a lot.

Like, I think some women manga/anime artists do not mean to make genderbendy characters, it's just that there are a school of thought where the artists think that men does not need to be super buff all the time to be 'real' men.

'Feminine' and 'Masculine' are also badly peppered with a lot of societal baggage. Is 'softness' and 'kindness' supposed to be only a 'feminine' trait? Is 'ambition' and 'strength' supposed to be only 'masculine' trait? Can't women be women even when she's muscular without having to be 'genderbendy'?

Can't men be men even when they are not physically imposing without having to be thought 'feminine' or 'genderbendy'?

In real life, similarly, asian men get shat on from great height at regular occurrence because they are not the typical towering muscular blonde viking gods, but really, asian men are as 'real men' as any.

this dude isn't a gender bender dude. he's just a dude.

Yeah, I get the frustration. It’s just due to how masculine Sir Gawain is relegated to be and yer style being a straight frustration away from such trend. Regardless, those artists do indeed envision a World without one iota of care for gender norms. Yet here we are stuck still talking about it like it possess us as some master and we being zombies to it.

as for the character, they are borderline fictional, what's with having different roles in different iterations of the tales but yeah, gender norms are also affected by what cultures they are viewed in.

also, can't speak for others, but i feel like i'm pretty woke and i think talking about stuff is sometimes one way to challenge the zombies to wake up !
