Dronefly - The Future of Drone State Surveillance and Judgment

in #drones9 years ago (edited)

Drone technology is taking the world by storm . Although it can't be denied that there are many positive ways in which drones can be used, history tells us that technologies as powerful as this tend to be taken over by the powers that be and turned against us and humanity.

Take a look at the Internet and the mass surveillance exposed by Snowden and others, mobile phones and their tracking capabilities used in social control. Not much is private anymore. Your face and identity is a constantly refreshing statistic used in a larger pool of data used in social engineering by the government and large corporations.

Even those with half a brain can see how both inventions which were sold to us as tools of social liberation, turned slowly against us. If you still don't agree with me I urge you to go for a nice stroll in your local city and take a look at the people walking with their heads lowered and submerged in their micro environment. I think most kids these days would have serious problems drawing a nice skyline, mainly because they rarely look up.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for advancement and technological progress but only if it actually serves mankind.

So let's take a look at drones. The idea is great, the technology is fantastic, the uses can be many: deliveries, first aid, neighborhood watch, etc. The equipment and technology itself is never to blame of course, it's only the people who turn against the majority because they are hungry for more money or/and more power. Let me explain how they will use drones to make their sinister desires a 'progressive' reality.

The future of drone advancement is in micro drones which can be smaller than a fly. As micro drones can be solar powered and practically silent due to their very small size imagine how they can be used in mass surveillance.

Before you know it we will all have a micro drone assigned to our name and hovering around us day and night watching and recording into the cloud our every single move. While you think this is impossible, I will argue that it is inevitable.

The state needs more control because of crime, terrorism, discrimination, etc and people will give them a mandate to create something they will brand as a Utopian society. One in which we're being viewed in real time and everywhere. This is nothing new and it's already happening via phones and the Internet. The only difference is that their control is still largely dependent on our input, whereas if they had their own little agent with each of us it would be a much more wider ,and more importantly, more objective control.

When I was a kid my Catholic parents and teachers liked to illustrate the forces of good and evil within my mind and life by two figures hovering on both sides of my head. One would be an angel, always striving for the good, and one the devil, always tempting to do wrong. Surely you're familiar with this type of image.

Stretching things further, but just a little bit, imagine a drone as small as a fly, assigned to your name and constitution, not only 'seeing' what you do at all times but also acting as a 'good buddy of yours' that will help you live your life to the fullest and be a good and law abiding citizen. It will aid you in every way it can.

You think people won't sign up to this? Believe me, people will not only sign up, they will pay good money for it.

Why? Because it will be sold as life saving and entertaining device.

People pay a lot of money for phones regardless of the fact that they are radioactive and cause us harm. This will be no different. And this 'dronefly' technology will save many lives, there is no question about that.

Imagine a lonely old person who has a heart attack or falls down and gets knocked unconscious. A mobile phone won't do much in this type of scenario or even an emergency button, by a 'dronefly' will notify the ambulance immediately.

Imagine a woman who is attacked by some hoods in the park late at night. Her 'dronefly' will alarm the police and record what is happening at the scene. This will be stored in the cloud for instant viewing or playback by the authorities who can dispatch an armed police drone hovering closest to the location to her immediate rescue.

I can think of hundreds of situations where micro drones could save lives and actually help us in life. But there are always two sides to everything. In this case the loss of privacy will be absolute.

The state will not only know what you do and where you are at all times but it may also intervene in situations where it thinks you are doing something illegal or inappropriate.

If you park your car the wrong way or spit out your chewing gum onto the street it may warn you or issue an instant ticket, if you swear it may tell you that your language in inappropriate, if you cheat on your taxes it will know how and when. There will be no running away or switching it off.

You and the state will be one.

This is awesome!! I think drones are around us and we just don't know they are there. They look like insects, or toys...interesting and worrying in the same time...
