RE: You Suck!

I am going to focus on the suckage.

If you don't screw up once in a while you would never learn anything and then yes.... you would, in fact, suck.

Yes that is 100% , you would never learn anything if you do not try and instead of trying to tell yourself no you don't suck but still not going like Thomas the Little Engine that could, it helps to at times just accept you suck at a specific thing or that thing, or because of this thing. Many things that can be the core to your suckage.

Accept it and then instead of just saying No I don't suck you say well how can I suck less at it and then go Choo! Choo! and as for finding encouragement to keep going, you will most likely already know of a source which you have not noted until then but it will provide you with the means of encouragement. Kind of like how you never notice red cars but one day all you see are red cars?

You do make me realize that encouragement does not need to be some grand show, but it is a daily thing one does for things that will improve lives in the grand scheme of life , such as your focus on health and believing that those people can although they do not think it is needed or is too much of a challenge.

I like to actually assist the "technologically disadvantagedPC Police" people with their phones when they come print, simple things like helping them make an album so we can copy the images off, I may over explain because I want them to realise that it is not difficult it just takes some thought and willingness, this can be applied then to other "tech" things they feel are scary - i.e. these are old people, real real old people but many are far less whiney now and help themselves so that is a win.

Sort:

Pen! The tech evangelist! That’s great that you help those people! Can you fly to the states and get my dad sorted?

As for the suckage - yes that’s a good point - one does need to acknowledge their limitations. I prefer to emphasize my strengths and work on those limitations that bug me.

For instance - I have severe suckage at any sport involving a ball and hand-eye (or foot) coordination - NOT happening! Now this particular limitation doesn’t bother me - I just focus my athletic prowess elsewhere.

But we all have this biological machine of a body - and without that, healthy and strong, we can’t accomplish our passions and goals. Just consider how everything falls apart when you have a cold. Imagine a chronic disease affecting you like that everyday. That’s where we want to minimize suckage and maximize health.

So from “Courage the Cowardly Dog” and “The Little Engine that Could” I thank you for your excellent insights and appreciate you helping your “disadvantaged” clients with their hurdles.
