Drug use is a problem across the military.This issue in many ways is related to the lack of spiritual resilience amongst our troops, and this is something that MOF is working to address. Our forces are mostly physically fit, well trained, and mentally tough, but there is a lack of spiritual fitness. Mind, body, and spirit are the legs of the stool that uphold warriors in combat. Lacking any one of these three poses a risk to these individuals.As you may recall in the story about the "Crimes of ST6", many of the guys had chosen to affiliate with various pagan traditions (American Indian, Viking, etc.). This is true throughout the military, and it is a way for guys without spiritual resilience to attempt to fill that void. The combat environment is one where these spiritual deficiencies can have a far reaching impact on the individual in a way that simply residing in the US and doing your thing doesn't.
