Not many people choose a monastic lifestyle, especially today. Many prefer to live in the world; most seek pleasure expecting that it will somehow lead them to satisfaction. Naturally, the pleasure is often short-lived.
Through renouncing most earthly pleasures, living a simple life, eating one meal a day and spending hours in quiet contemplation, perhaps one might learn more about the nature of the body, mind and spirit. Such a person might teach us how to distinguish pain from suffering, to live a life without suffering.
In this interview, Kurt talks with a monk who has practiced meditation and the lessons of Buddhism and yoga tradition for many years. Listen and learn, and you will gain the perspective of our Monk Friend.
