Hello guys! I'm crissimoes and this is my ninety fourth post here on @dsound. Are you ready for another class?

Today we are going to talk about Diminutive and Increase Nouns in portuguese.

Let's get started!

In Diminutive Noun, the noun may indicate diminution of size or manifestation of affection.

Examples: Mesinha (small table) and Mãezinha (dear mother).

In Increase Noun, the noun may indicate increase in size or exaggeration.

Examples: Gatão (big cat) and Portão (big gate).

Let's check more examples:

Janela (Window) - is the normal noun
Janelinha - is the diminutive noun
Janelão - is the increase noun

Casa (House) - is the normal noun
Casinha - is the diminutive noun
Casarão - is the increase noun

Cadeira (Chair) - is the normal noun
Cadeirinha - is the diminutive noun
Cadeirão - is the increase noun

Panela (Pan) - is the normal noun
Panelinha - is the diminutive noun
Panelão - is the increase noun

We have come to the end of another Portuguese class.
