Growth pains & flames
Behind our back who spoke?
Turning we found not a stir.
Always need someone to blame,
So we can point a finger.
And then ya get lost in the lies ya tell—
Get blinded by the unreality of strife.
And then ya get caught in the fiction of
Supposed "enemies,"
And warfare seems to be all life is.
Don't submit to the brainwashing;
We are one humanity.
Even if it seems the planet's doomed,
Doesn't change we're family.
Accused of spreadin' platitudes
If we speak the truth of love,
Enthused by the violence—
When will people have enough?
If you wanna help the world progress
Just focus on the only thing that you can change.
Fill your spirit up with peace, serenity;
And then the world you rearrange.
Step by step, we can make this world a paradise.
Open up your soul and take flight.
Just bit by bit, we can make this world so wonderful.
Take the torch I pass and let your heart burn bright.

Your poetry is amazing Daniel, as always, but it's hard to understand it sometimes, what I like. I am happy that I can comment on this one haha
I love the topic, I love how you said to not submit to brainwashing and that we can change the world.
The whole poem is wonderful but your last sentence amazed me. It's like the poem doesn't end, you just passed it to another person.
Spread love bro, let's make people realize that this right here is a paradise! Have a great day Daniel!
Hey Luka it's awesome to hear from you! In my view, art ought to be felt first and foremost. Understanding is secondary, a product of right feeling.
I'm really happy you could relate to some of the themes I explored! I could not write something this if it wasn't written as a song, as this was. I find that in the transition from pure literary poetics to poeticized music ideas tend to become distilled to their bare essence.
Did you get a chance you listen to the (very rough) audio version of it? If not, I'd love to hear how it changes your take on the written word. :-)
Always spread love through one's becoming love.
All the best -
Daniel
P.S. As I don't have access to my keyboard at the moment, the audio is only vocal sounds a.k.a. singing and beatboxing. When I create a finished version it would contain more sections and instrumentation than this rough sketch.
Oh yeah, and I'm not a good audio engineer xD
P.P.S.
Did you happen to see this one? It's in a similar vein to this piece.

I didn't hear it before but it's amazing. At the end it really sound good, really really good :D You're really good at this!
P.S. Thanks for introducing me to SBI, I invested 30steem so far! Woohoo :D
nice
No submission allowed!!! This sounds cool as hell. Even that backing part that sounds like an actual drum kit is beatbox? The snare almost sounds like it has a clap sound laid over it
@yeninsfer Definitely, that is how we manifest paradise: though at times it seems so painstakingly gradual. Through the aeons humanity comes closer to its potential—inching, as it were, towards magnificence. Much love and gratitude for your appreciation! Sending a hug back.
@d-pend Friend you are amazing with every line you write. I hope you enjoy a beautiful and wonderful day. A big greeting and hug.
impressive!
Wow very nice! Very original
Thank you @ruta! I made it pretty minimalistic because I don't have access to my keyboard right now so all the sounds are voice-generated :-D It still took forever though, lol. One of the reasons why I don't make as much music as I'd like.
nice
What is growth?I think it's the process of constantly thinking that you were a moron
its really amazing
thank you @abhay.singh :-)

Wow ... What a talent! Each note feels like sparks fired from the original fire. You are a good musician, I love the result. The multiplication of the message of love, hope and light is felt in the images and words. It reminds me of the power of the message of a great Cumanian poet: Andrés Eloy Blanco, with his "Colloquium under the palm"
Greetings, @ d-pend! A tight hug!
Beautiful 🙏
It is great!! I really admire musicians :D what you do is very inspiring :)

Greetings, @d-pend.
I lost track of you for quite some time now. A lot of post to catch on.
i'm going to interject on a question you asked @whack.science
regarding the transition from literary poetics to poetized music: " how it changes your take on the written word"?
It was kind of surprising, i must confess; it was fun; so much so that for a while i just forgot about the words.
When i read the poem i was in a sort of "solemn" mood, and i had actually been writing and commenting to several users about how much we can really do to make a difference. Can we? should we? How do we handle the frustration of fighting too powerful an enemy (and i am not talking about mega corporations or the military, it can as basic as dirty or loud neighbors). Well, your poem somehow provides a Salomonic answer to that question.
I was not thinking about any of that while i listened to the sung version.
I am not sure it is a bad thing, though. I guess (considering how pop music works on youth) that's the idea of songs, to just convey a message without you being aware that you are getting one.
So, it was a very interesting experience. I'll check your other posts.
I always say this was one of your best @d-pend,
But this one has such a positive message. I will take it at face value today. Yes, "we can make the world so wonderful." I hope you fared well in that Carolina storm.
