RE: Dsound needs your delegation!

Nah I was diggin' yours too! One point you did touch on that I missed (a huge factor) is the community built around the platform. That may arguably be the most important part of all. I've met so many talented musicians through DSound, it's been an invaluable experience this past year to know so many gifted people.

Sort:

And the other important things, by delegating to dsound, it was never a "gift" or a "favor". Musicians and producers with skills,it costs a lot of money, because it's rare...
It's ludicrous to think we gonna work for free! The other thing is that we used to diversify our streams of income due to our daily life, we know what it is to make concessions and sacrifices.
Imagine one of your school where you give lesson decide to stop paying their music teachers, well I can tell you that they would sued!

great investment. A new music industry is something that a lot of artists wantAbsolutely dude -- I agree and disagree, strangely lol. You're right that it was never a gift or a favor, but an investment. From a business standpoint, I personally think an investment in @dsound was a , and no one has successfully paved that road yet. Dsound and @prc are certainly creating brand new opportunities for musicians to earn, and with some solid marketing and outreach it could completely change the way the game is played.

However, as much as I disagree with the divestment in Dsound, to my knowledge there were no contracts or obligations in how much or how long they would receive the delegation. @misterdelegation was supposedly set in place to get Dapps off the ground, in which case I suppose it fulfilled it's purpose.

Again, it's not that I think pulling the delegation was a good move in the least - lots of us are very unhappy about it and I truthfully think it harms a phenomenal entry point into the Steem ecosystem - but only that it was at their discretion to do so as far as I can tell.

From that standpoint you are absolutely right, I just thought that we were considerably increasing the value of the blockchain, so it was a good exchange.
We just need to find whales interested in supporting music on Steemit.

I definitely agree that we are. That's the bottom line of Steem -- there's been a lot of talk about the under-the-hood side, but that's all for nothing if they can't attract content creators, and more importantly, content consumers.

That's a fundamental issue I have with Steemit Inc (as I think a lot of people do). I just listened to the MSP-Waves Town Hall with Ned last night, and while I'm not one to let myself get overly frustrated with the politics, it makes me wonder. I know Ned has his visions - which is fine, he's entitled to them - but it seems like he's building a birdhouse only to shoo the birds away for ruining his project. Almost as if it's seemingly a vanity project gone way too mainstream (relatively speaking), and really not meant for the public at all.

Point being, we're definitely on the same page. I think investing in musicians and platforms for musicians on Steem was a great investment. Ned said he hadn't heard from @dsound in months, and yet they consistently put out updates and announcements to the community. I think he just wasn't looking nearly hard enough. Also, what is our alternative? It'd be one thing if he said 'DSound isn't cutting it and we've seen these other great music sharing Dapps emerging, so let's change our focus'. But now, it's just tough cookies for the music community.

All in all though, I have faith that we'll all keep moving forward. The community has a good foundation of talented individuals. I'm no longer really surprised by the rash actions of Steemit, Inc., but I hope that turns around sooner rather than later.
