I don't know if you were around in that era, but maybe a little before that, The Monkees was a show about a rock band, whose actors actually went on tour, lip-syncing to pre-recorded tunes... Jimi Hendrix opened for them on one of those tours, a complete disaster for him, quit after the third or fourth show of the tour, but fortunately for posterity, his career survived that. "Careful what we wish for..." may be the operative lesson here. ;-)

ha ha , very good point mate , i remember reruns of the monkees in the late 70's early 80's , but i was very young then so not vividly :)
