Hello, Steemians! A couple years ago, I put together a rough draft for a WordPress post, called "Ask a Witch." It was inspired by a number of questions I'd been asked over the years about my beliefs (been a practicing witch since 1991) both online and in person. However, I never got around to finishing it, because it was... in a word... lacking.
Recently, I've been having great fun sending questions to @raymondspeaks for his new series on DSound, Questions For a Scotsman (go give it a listen - it's wicked awesome!).
Yesterday, with the assistance of the wonderfully kind and patient people over at the Pimp Your Post Thursday chat on the Steemit Ramble Discord Channel, I figured out I do have a working microphone. I also chatted through DM with a lovely person (you know who you are) and the phrase, "Fuck it - just do it already" came up.
All those things, combined with the fact I've been told a number of times over the years that I have a face voice for radio (by the way, my profile picture is about ten years old... one of these days, I suppose I should take a new one... 😜) caused a bit of a light bulb moment...

I should do "Ask a Witch" as a DSound episode!
While I do have a few questions already lined up, I thought it would be great fun to steal Raymond's idea ask this community first if they had anything they'd like to ask me. It doesn't necessarily have to be about witchcraft - who says you can't ask a witch what her favorite color is (nope, not black)? 😊
Shout out with a query in the comment section below, or if you're shy and want to ask anonymously, feel free to send me a DM on Discord. As a bit of an enticement, I figure I'll also not hex anyone who doesn't send me a good question list out the questions in the "it's up" announcement post, and add a link to a recent post on that particular Steemian's account (unless you ask anonymously - then I might just drop a random link to someone else's post).
I plan to have the post up sometime at the beginning of next week (29th-ish), and if I get enough questions, I might just make this a weekly thing.
So, ask away!

I like this idea! How basic can the questions be? I am curious about the connection between "being a witch" and Wicca. Can you talk about that?
Most definitely, @reverenderik! In fact, it's a question I run into all the time - great choice! Thanks for shouting out!
ooooooooh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE THIS!!!!!! I have lots of questions!!! First one being, the lottery numbers please. lol :P
hehehe naaaah no really.... LOVE this idea!!!!
You may need to start charging me for all
my questions lol
I can definitely give you lottery numbers, @jaynie - however, no guarantees they'll be the winning numbers! 😊
And I'm sending you a voucher, good for free questions for life, redeemable through me. Now, ask away! 😊
I can't wait to hear what your answers are. I'm a witch too and get asked a number of questions, as well.
Coolness, @chessaria! How long have you been practicing? Feel free to shout out with any Witchy questions, like my favorite spell, or must have crystal. 😊
I've been practicing for about 5 years now, but I have considered myself pagan for about 12.
Awesome, @chessaria! Happy to have connected with you here!
A very cool idea thumbs up (even though I'm not sure what dsound does - is it like a podcast recording?)
q: how can I familiarise myself with my black cats?
lol see what I did there? ;) /jk btw but if I think of any good (serious) questions I shall holler <3
LOLOL! Nicely played, @ravenruis! I look forward to a possible serious holler. 😊
Oh, and completely spaced your question about DSound - yes, it's like a podcast recording. To give you an idea of how it works, here's @raymondspeaks DSound account (since I don't have anything up on mine at the moment) -

what an awesome idea to help break the stigma about witches out there! I've got to figure out dsound but I would love to listen to this!
I'd love to ask about cleansing - homes, cards, our selves and how often? Also, what types of protection spells or crystals or other methods work best.
Thanks, @amariespeaks! Listening to DSound is super easy (I know since I was able to figure it out - LOL) - you just click on the link when I post it, and it will bring you to the audio file. Those are awesome topics to talk about! Appreciate you shouting out! 😊
sweet! I'll definitely be tuning in :)
Coolness!
No problem - the more, the merrier! I may have to send in my own questions :)
Coolness! That would be wicked awesome - thanks!
This topic seems fantastic to me, I'll be waiting for the publication, for now I have no questions, I'm learning xontogo from this, I thought the witches were bad he he
Excellent, @marpa! No worries -plenty of people think witches are bad, and I can't say there aren't some who are (much like any group of people). Feel free to send any questions at any point if you have them! 😊
This is a fantastic idea! I'd like to know about dancing sky clad for the full moon. Although it's probably a little too chilly to do that in NH right now. But seriously, this will be great, you can clear up a lot of rumors and myths that people have about witches and witchcraft!
Honestly, I have a hard time doing the skyclad thing - I'm so pale that even the moonlight reflects off me and blinds everyone in the general vicinity....lol!
I certainly hope I can help demystify a few things - it would be nice if people would stop screaming & running when they see me. Although, come to think of it, most of them don't even know I'm a witch... maybe I should check the strength of my deodorant... ;)
I am sure that you are beautiful in the moonlight! It could just be the pointy hat that scares people off! lol!
Ahh, good... point. LOL!
Plus... You could always go over to Cedar Waters to take care of the pale thing! :0)
I used to clean houses with my sister-in-law, and one of the houses was up in that area, but not at the camp itself. However, she didn't tell me anything, so when we took that right before the speedway, and I saw the sign...LOL!
I won't have expected that in NH because of the weather, but they've been there forever, so they must be doing something right. Lumpy and Leaky are saying "Momma let us live free!!!"
