RE: Steemians: What's your economic philosophy?

The problem with describing one’s political philosophy is that the ‘post-modernists’ and the current forms of media have so distorted the meaning of many labels it is difficult to identify safely with a particular movement or group.

Liberal used to mean something like ‘small government, individual freedom’ and has unfortunately been associated with severe Left-wing views.

I label myself alt-center; I think both Left and Right, Democrat and Republican, Libertarian and Socialist views are lacking. However, simply mediating is not a principled view, so I don’t associate with the center. Historically, major social and economic progress has manifested over decades concurrently on both sides of the political spectrum. A pragmatic view of effective political change recognizes that the most potent changes are usually achieved at the boundary between common ground and radical thought. Thus I label myself alt-center.
