Finally now everyone is able to access and use the communities within Steemit. You can access it thru http://beta.steemit.com . There are numerous changes in the functionality however the interface is pretty much the same.
You can also now create your very own community from the beta.steemitwallet.com and you have to pay 3steem to create the community. Once you've done that you can invite everyone to access it.
