How to Buy Steem Power with CoinBase

in #dtube6 years ago (edited)

Many of you have asked how I purchase my Steem Power. I personally use CoinBase to move my fiat (USD) into crypto currency, no matter what the crypto is that I'm buying. In today's video I will walk you through the process of purchasing Ethereum (or BTH, BTC, LTC, etc.) and exchanging that for Steem Power. As the crypto markets continue to drop I will continue to take advantage of this buying opportunity.

I find it funny that i asked you a question some hours ago and then i get this video explaining everything i needed to know. 😂 Please keep on the informative content up!

Lol, there's no rest for the wicked! :)

Plus, I am on a buying spree at the moment and I'm testing out Dtube some more. I'm really considering moving to dtube now as I found today's posting pretty painless. I can tell the @dtube community has been hard at work making updates.

Upvoted, resteemed, washed and waxed. 👍👍👍

thank you for your useful tips as a new user of steemit i find you as a great supporter by providing as with these information thank you

Glad this was helpful, @yassinof. Thanks for your comments! :)

Thanks for the update Brandon. I think it is very important that we educate beginners on how to get involved with cryptos, which I will be doing in my new course!

Great explanation of how to buy Steem Power with Coinbase. I'd love to know how you make your videos (hardware and software)!

Thanks as always @lukebrn for your support. As you can see, I'm giving Dtube another go lol. I'm really considering moving completely over to d.tube now. I use Screencast-o-matic with my builtin Macbook Pro camera for my videos and only use iMovie for the editing. I have used Adobe Premiere in the past for more production-type videos, but it's much more software than I currently need. So I try and keep it as simple as possible.

No worries, Glad to hear! I'm starting on DTube now in a few weeks. What about a mic? And thanks for letting me know!

Oh yeah, forgot about the mic lol. I have been using my iPhone headphones with builtin mic. Sounds like a cheap way of doing things but honestly the audio comes out really good. You'll see in my videos that I always have the headphones in. That's my trick :)

Cool, i will give it a try so! thanks Brandon.

Sure thing, man. Anything else you need just let me know. I already see I'm going to have to put together a tutorial on fixing the thumbnail issue with Dtube. It shows up small in the Steemit post. But I've already found a fix.

Thanks again! Would love to work on a collar for something. I'm working on a passive income series at the moment, just got my logo sorted etc. Working on a header now, then going to do a few more posts and start videos!

Although this wasn’t directed to me, I find this info valuable. I’ve been trying to find a good way to create videos like yours for my online classes. Again, thanks!

Cool, yeah that's my simple setup. Nothing fancy. :)

is definitely time to buy! the probabilities of seeing steem this low again, after this market correction are slim to none.

Exactly! I'm trying to encourage as many people as possible without giving out "professional financial advice" lol. Glad you're seeing what I'm seeing. :)

Thank you

Yes, or about any crypto you've been looking to get. Not sure when this bull run will start up again.

Thank you @brandonfrye for making a transfer to me for an upvote of 5.87% on this post! Half of your bid goes to @budgets which funds growth projects for Steem like our top 25 posts on Steem! The other half helps holders of Steem power earn about 60% APR on a delegation to me! For help, will you please visit https://jerrybanfield.com/contact/ because I check my discord server daily? To learn more about Steem, will you please use http://steem.guide/ because this URL forwards to my most recently updated complete Steem tutorial?

Informative post. Post having a video in it makes it easier for the viewer to understand. And it also takes less time to learn more..... :))

Glad you like it. Thanks @arslanhyder!

Just HODL....
I believe this is a test, just HODL...

Curious to know, which exchanges you prefer other than Coinbase? I currently use Coinbase and Binance but I hate having my crypto sitting on these centralized systems.

Binance is a good one. I also have an account with Cryptopia (not a fan of their shenanigans), Kucoin, and a couple others. I would say that I use Binance more than any for purchasing new cryptos.

Brilliant and again, another much needed explanation for newer Steemians.

I'm watching your videos and buying Steem Power....Because I'm addicted and need help! But seriously, I follow the exact same procedure. It's the easiest for me as well being in Canada. Our 'exchanges' are horrible here....So as much as Coinbase drove me nuts in December....It's the easiest to use to buy via fiat and than transfer over here.

Thanks @jongolson, yeah I wish there were some better CoinBase alternatives (and a way to avoid all the fees) but it's really the best right now. If you haven't already, check out GDAX which is basically CoinBase and has less fees for transferring. It's just CoinBase without the pretty UI.

The video would not play. I tried a few time since no luck I already know how to buy crypto I decided to skip I am sure it was interesting

Out of curiosity, what browser are you on? I usually have issues with dtube on Safari but not Firefox.

Chrome I watch Dtube before first time not working(edit got it working now after a few refresh)

Okay, maybe Firefox is better. I'm not sure. But glad you got it working!

Another really good video for the masses of newbies like me. Thank you for it.

I did a bit yesterday with coinbase to open ledger for bitshares. It worked slick enough, even though my timing just stinks :) Coinbase now charges $13 for any BTC transaction. Seems high to me, but it is much faster now that they have the fee.

Anyway, thanks again.

I think it s a time to buy ripple ( XRP)

Thanks for sharing with us newbies on how to buy and to get into crypto currency

Blocktrades is excelent to transfer and change your currency, thanks for show us this way to buy Steem/SP, upvoted :D!

@brandonfrye
Your turning into a Steem Locomotive! All that Steem Power and more power to you. Yes, your right, coinbase is holding two transfers for 7 days before i can buy Ethreum, and bitcoin, but they gave me a $50 Limit on my debt card? dont know why, Id buy more Steem Power myself, but like you said they limit you at first...until when?
Excellent Steem On information as always.

Great post and video! I'm one if the people that have neem waiting on that first transfer to clear. If I had known it wiuld take this long I would've sent over more. It's supposedly going to be there tomm. Can't wait to power up.

It has been a bloody battlefield with corpses piling up in Asia today. Salute to we all who firmly believe in liberty. Keep steemitting!

Gotta love the dip!

Thanks and yes is probably best time to buy coins in 2018.

I came here from your youtube channel i love it ! I learned so many thing about steem from you ! :)

Hey @brandonfrye great tutorial. Getting started with crypto can be overwhelming when you realize all the steps you have to go through to turn dollars into crypto. You’re tips and tricks really help the newbie not get burned in the early stages of investing.

Maybe you’ve addressed this somewhere else, but I noticed steam power and steam dollars are near the same price USD. What is the compelling reason to buy power over dollars right now? If you only wanted to spend a small amount (<$100) would you see mug benefit in buying steam power?

Are Steem and Steempower conversions always linked? i.e. when steem price goes up or down does steempower go up or down in value accordingly? is there a fee when converting back and forth from steem to steempower and vice versa?

Wow! Very helpful indeed! And a good time to buy more steempower as well while everything is on the low. I may consider buying some soon with Litecoin. :) Upvoted! Feel free to check my blogs to see if there is anything I made that interest you.^^

great video thank you for share
