hmmm that's a fair point. I met the whole Appics team at Steemfest and they seem pretty excited about using the Steem blockchain for their app... but I guess you never really know.
One thing that gives me some hope is that they do have a decent amount of SP invested into their account (not delegated)... which means they've staked their own funds into Steem in order to help the app be more successful. I think that's a good sign.
