Shhh - Sound to Put a Baby to Sleep (8 Hours Female Voice)

in #dtube5 years ago (edited)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTA01Okzx2U

I found this this video while I was having trouble putting my baby to sleep and wanted to share it with you.

For my baby, it worked like a charm!

It was especially helpful, when we were on a trip and spent a couple of nights in a hotel (new environment for the baby).
This helped a lot calming the baby, so she can fall asleep in the new room.

Hope it works for you as well!

P. S. Travel video coming soon :)

Sort:

@dragraff I don’t agree with a lot of the comments here so figured I’d leave one, as I downvoted this post earlier when I saw it on trending.

Previously it was sort of “anything goes” here when it came to using bid bots, but now due to some economic changes seen in the last hardfork, this is no longer acceptable.

The idea is that instead of bought votes, content should be rewarded organically. This would result in a better ecosystem and more of a realistic look at what the community supports etc.

So the result you are seeing is due to the fact that you purchased votes and not only that, but on a simple video that was not yours. Instead it would have been better to share it and let the community reward it as they saw fit.

I have no problem with sharing content and agree that doing so is better in some cases than sharing some blurry photos which is upvoted by a circle jerk, but we are still trying to find our balance of sharing content here.

The thing is that our rewards pool is a shared inflation pool that is intended to be allocated to what brings value back it. The problem is that what brings value in is different to everyone, so our up and down votes act as a way for us to decide where we think it should be allocated. The system then finds consensus based on this and pays out to that content after the payout period.

So in your case it’s about many disagreeing with your choice to self allocate the inflation through the process of buying votes.

It’s not personal, it’s not hate, it’s just a disagreement of rewards. Even if some of these comment come off a bit arrogant.. I wanted to explain it a bit more calmly in hopes it would make sense.

@justineh thank you for taking the time to explain this to me.

I'll take that into consideration for the future, even though I'm on the edge right now if I should continue here or not.

It's hard not to take things personally, when I lost more than 100$ (some of wich were actually "organic" votes) over a "new principle" ment to improve the platform.

I really appreciate what you're saying, but consider the whole reaction an overkill.
And if this is how the community reacts to mistakes, than I'm sure there are friendlier communities elsewhere

I did not intend for the post to be made invisible but it is incredibly frustrating to see this after so much effort has been spent to combat bid bot abuse on the platform.

I have been fighting bid bot abuse long before @justineh / @llfarms had been on the platform so maybe I'm a little salty and weary to see the same thing again and literally as the first post I find reviewing trending.

Maybe I think it is prudent to make examples because then we will see it less. I'm sorry it had to be your post but you placed it in a situation to be scrutinized.

How easy is it for an a user to move promotion abuse to an alt account? The decisive loss of funds is an effective deterrent so I don't agree with the overkill notion. If anybody else tries it, same should happen irrespective of what we perceived the user to know or not know. Yeah, it sucks when a user doesn't know what they are doing but feeling bad doesn't put the rewards on content that rates.

If we are going to promote to Trending, care must be taken so content reflects.

It's overkill. People are leaving. Steemit is dying. It's become a hostile environment. Exchanges will start delist this crypto. Poloniex just send out a mail that Steem will no longer be traded on their exchange. More will follow.
It's funny that so many whales go after 'bidbot abuse' which is mostly used by smaller accounts, while they keep upvoting crappy blog posts in their small circle of whale accounts to payouts that are multiply times bigger than sometimes good content of plankton/minnows that have used bidbots.
No one is going after whales, because you know, it's their platform. That much is clear.

I get your point, but maybe you're focusing your energy in the wrong direction.

Instead of taking out the little ones, why don't you take on the big ones, you know, the ones selling the votes?

You say you've been fighting "the abuse" for a long time, well obviously this method does not work: the bid bods/vote sellers are still there (and thriving) + the community is getting devided (judging by the comments).

Have you considered changing your methods? Because I fail to see how your actions help anyone...

I removed my downvote as I agree this response was overkill and a simple explanation could have been done instead of some egotistical comments that don’t set a great example.

Mistakes happen, we live and learn. Don’t let some downvotes deter you from being a part of a pretty great community.

Are you serious? Promoting a video that is not yours and a low effort loop at that?

https://steemd.com/tx/d06ed7217d24848fae10fcc92d2a90d8788280c1

200 Steem? This is insanity and should not be on Trending. This is like a smack in the face to any reasonable person.

I can't believe you've done this!!wb83b4x98v.gif

Flagged for bid bot abuse @steemflagrewards

Flag trail incoming.

Edit: It was brought to my attention that maybe I was too hard on this user and that may be so but there are a few items to consider.

  1. After being my rebuked, the user proceeded to buy many more votes putting the content on Trending which aggravated the situation.

  2. The user is not aware of how the reward pool works and seems uninterested in learning how it works at this time. Considering the nature of the pool being a shared resource, we should all learn how it works so that we don't misappropriate it as a courtesy to others. That's how I see it.

  3. The magnitude of overvaluation influenced my approach. It was at $60 when first engaged.

Could I have gone about this better? Certainly and I'll work to adjust and try to feel out a user that is ignorant to how things work around here.

Why do you get so upset?
There's really no need for that, is there?
Sharing video content is something dtube encourages...

Posted using Partiko Android

Sharing is okay, but reading such a big share of the rewards with paid votes is not good for the community. You are depriving others who have worked hard on their posts. I'm not against people getting rewards, but they should be earned.

I have seen that happen, but I am checking if people bought the votes themselves and this guy spent hundreds of Steem on this. That is not how Steem is supposed to work. It is selfish behaviour. Of course some big accounts are selfish too, but some of that is being dealt with lately.

We have freedom here, but the will of the community can counteract greedy acts.

Pasting the same reply everywhere is spammy. Removing my vote

If dtube encourages buying votes on this post, dtube is being unethical.

I never said that...

Posted using Partiko Android

But I guess as long as you're getting your rewards everything is good. Right?
Nothing immoral about downvoting regardless of the content itself as long as you get your share....

Posted using Partiko Android

Yes, we use our system to reward ourselves for downvoting unreasonably boosted content and this serves to offset the frequent retaliation we receive such as you towards my initial comment. Think of it as a sort of hazard pay.

Doesn't this sound a bit hypocrite?

@therealwolf, would you please look into this.

They seem to be doubling down on this ridiculous promotion and have boosted it another $20+ since we initially engaged.

Figured I'd notify @ocdb, @postpromoter, @theycallmedan, @transisto, @trafalgar while I'm at it.

Thanks for any that help wreck the profitability of this very low effort attempt at taking from the reward pool in a big way.

Correction: Another $80 in votes. Wow, this is egregious.

Wow!
Do you really feel that what you're doing is the best interest of the community?

I mean, I for one would have loved to have found this on Dtube instead of Youtube.
Now that the video is trending more people can see it and hopefully it will help them as well.

I fail to see what's wrong with that...

Yes, you are undermining what many of us have been working to change in #newsteem.

Trending should not be used to share arbitrary things we find on the Internet... Well unless you are willing to decline rewards for content that is not reflective of work.

The votes that allocate the reward pool should reflect the value the contribution adds to the Steem network.

I would have to ask @heimindanger but believe you are able to share to dtube testnet without posting to Steem. If you don't want to decline rewards, that may be your best bet.

And here I was thinking that everybody wanted steem to become mainstream...

To be honest I don't have the time to look up what a reward pool is and how it works. I just found something useful to me and wanted to share it with others.

And now it seems that I have offended a lot of people for reasons I don't exactly understand...

It shouldn't be this complicated... Look at reddit, Facebook etc.

Hope you understand where I'm getting at.
I mean it's social media, it's not supposed to be complicated or require advice IT knowledge or it will never become mainstream.

Posted using Partiko Android

So, you don't understand how the reward pool works but seems like you sure got bid bots figured out.

Think you may have had the wrong idea that Steem is a way to make money without work. If you can pass the scrutinizing eyes of the many curators monitoring trending then maybe but that's become more difficult thanks to Hard Fork 21.

Recommend you read the white paper if you want to know how things are supposed to work.

Ha?! There were plenty of posts about promoting your content I just chose 2 of them...

Reading the white paper is something that the average user does not (have time to) do.
You might disagree, but it's the truth.

@blocktrades this post may need an adjustment if you have a free DV that needs a place. Thanks

Hi. This video is great, but first, it's not yours, so you shouldn't be monetizing it. Second, buying votes is highly discouraged and it undermines the proof of brain voting behaviour intended for steem; third, bid bot vote stacking is probably one of the worst practices on New Steem.
Sorry, but we had to downvote this post with our highest percentage as your reputation and time on the platform indicates that you already know these three things we're mentioning here. Hopefully you won't buy votes in the future.
Att @anomadsoul

Hi,
Thanks for the explanation. But I still don't believe it justifies this behavior...
Yes I've been around for a while now, but that doesn't mean I'm constantly up to date with all the forks and whatnot.
I would describe myself as an average social media consumer. I post a photo every now and then, I make travel videos as I hobby and I share stuff that I find interesting.
So yes, I don't understand things like stacking votes or how the reward pool is being shared, but I shouldn't have to. I'm not in charge of anything, I'm bearly a consumer.
Anyway... Maybe this platform is not for me, maybe it's aimed at tech savvy people and will stay this way. I don't know...
Feel free to downvoted what you consider right to do so, but the atitudine that I've encountered today will probably push most people away from steem...

If you figured out how to use bid bots I'm sure you can figure out after reading this why it hurts the economy and the potential of steem to use them for profit instead of for promotion at a cost: https://steemit.com/downvotes/@acidyo/why-you-may-be-getting-downvoted

Sorry to say, but smaller players are no longer welcome on Steemit anymore. The whales that became big because they were in first, used bidbots themselves, vote themselves in circle jerks with other whales are now demanding others to be 100% clean as to not delude their build up Steem value. They say they "will look into the circle jerks later" while being part of it right now. They claim that "you are not owed any Steem", while they still pull in a lot of Steem out of the rewards and share votes with other big accounts. As a result the platform is dying. We got a shrinking number of users every day. And exchanges are starting to delist Steem. Today Poloniex send out a mail that they will no longer have Steem trading on their exchange. More will follow. I find it completely bonkers some live in a bubble and don't see what is going on.

Upvoted in order to help unhide it on the frontends. Don't think it deserves a high payout but it does deserve to be visible. Those who have babies would find it useful so there's definitely value in the post.
