After every warm shower I have a cold one and it became habit. I always think it triggers energies, maybe that’s what you talk about. I consider a complete cold shower with no “warming up” a method to shake off random scattered thoughts that distract or disturb me :)

Focus is also something that it is improved with cold showers. Like you said it helps overcome distractions. When you're in the water the first thing you focus on is how cold it is. Then you can switch your focus to something else.
