The creation of Solder Boy comes from a film we made called Sick Of It All. Watch Sick Of It All - Free On Prime
Sick Of It All is a noir styled movie about a loveless relationship, also strangely based on the french children's book The Little Prince.
In the film, the lead character is a toy collector, and in his collection he has one of the original "Soldier Boy". This was all made up for the movie.
While we were on set, making Sick Of It All, Robert and I kept singing made up Solider Boy theme songs. We even started to make up fake scenes for the Solider Boy Show.
After we finished shooting Sick Of It All, we kept on making jokes about Solider Boy. We decided to take it a step further.
Because of the current state of the world, and our hate for injustices toward humans done to humans by humans, around the world, we thought it would be a good idea to make a modern day Archie Bunker-ish cartoon that makes fun of racism, sexism, classism, and government.
We absolutely love all people in this world and believe in the possibility of a kinder, more peaceful way of being towards each other.
