RE: UBI In The Future

in #dtube5 years ago

UBI (the political definition)to me is more like getting paid by your fellow tax payers to consume oxygen. I don't like to draw parallels with STEEM and cryptos in general to UBI because here you get paid to author and curate content. You actually perform a function, instead of signing up to get paid for doing nothing of value. Beyond that in STEEM you hold it as an asset, you can put to work for you in several ways. I am confident that real UBI redistribution from taxpayers, will fall far short of the aspirations of people building a presence and infrastructure in the crypto space. Even @steembasicincome is a poor representation of UBI, because it's actually a form of patronage (for self and others). If people are coming to STEEM expecting a form of UBI, they will be disappointed. You get out of it what you put into it, even though there are definitely ways to enhance your return on investment.
