Why are so many anarchists triggered by the word "WE"?

in #dtube7 years ago (edited)

If any of you caught my presentation at Anarchapulco, Building Bridges: The Movement is Larger Than Any of Us Know, you'll know that one of my big focuses over recent times has been closing the gaps, identifying the miscommunications, and otherwise trying to get folks to realize most of us actually want to move in the same direction.

A couple days ago, I wrote a short post about how the freedom movement spends hundreds of millions of dollars on weekend events each year. I broke down some basic numbers, showed how much of that is literally money coming out of the pockets of freedom-lovers and straight into the pockets of globalist corporations, and mentioned some other things we could spend that money on.

Shortly thereafter, a friend shared the post in a Telegram group, and the following conversation began. It brought to the forefront one of those miscommunications that I've been discussing, and how some are completely triggered by certain words, becoming completely unable to continue an actual conversation.

A glimpse at the conversation

Not the whole conversation, but a good chunk of it

I think people for one, have lost the art of debate and critical thinking, also writing ideas out doesn't come across like it would in a conversation, when you write you have one chance to say it, and if it isn't perfectly expressed in 3,2,1...melt down. People don't ask for clarification anymore, or ask for you to elaborate, I think Social Engineering over the last 20 years has trained people to react, but not think, 20 years of weaponized sound bites in a culture that has Billions upon Billions of dollars spent on ways to fracture and create endless wedge issues socially, all created and crafted by professional's who specialize in this form of psychological warfare. The good news is the people with the cost of an internet. connection have stood up to Tyranny armed only with the truth, against great odds, from 9-11 truth forward the people have smashed the establishment narrative, and we are at a tipping point, and the People are winning. With patience and tenacity we will win in the end, Younger generation's are waking up faster and younger and the future is bright not dark like some would have you believe. Your work is creating ripples in a pond that collectively will become a Tsunami of Truth and Enlightenment, Keep up the good work Brother!

"We should all agree to not commit violence against each other." vs. "I think we should all agree not to commit violence against each other."

I think the first sentence sounds like a command, whereas the second sounds like your opinion.
