You're right! Halloween has changed so much. What I really don't like these days is many communities only allow trick-or-treaters on the weekend before or after the actual holiday. Should you scavenge candy on the actual holiday?? WTF
I also can't stand the liberals who get all butt hurt about people wearing certain costumes. Damn people,..pull the stick out of your ass and stop sucking the joy out of everything that is good. LOL

I’ve not had trick or treaters in years. I still buy the candy and then eat it. People mostly here just want go to the high population areas for the easy candy pick up. That and a lot of places are holding events in parks and stuff.
With how crazy the world has always been. I does make sense things are moving more towards planned events.
When I was a kid we had one Halloween there was a blizzard and I still went out. Didn’t matter the weather always went out. We had fun dressing up in a costume and would usually wear it a few days after Halloween as well.
My favorite candy is Reeses. Can’t get enough of that stuff!
Yeah I know the pre planned things may not be as much fun, but are a lot safer!

I think the closer neighborhoods still have trick-or-treat here, but lots of neighbors don't get to know each other these days. It is not safe to let your children go to houses where you don't know the people well, so a lot of it is like others say, churches have trunk-or-treat and downtowns and malls and other places have events.
It isn't the same !
We had a great time, dressing up, thinking everyone didn't know who we were and what a HAUL of candy ! I don't remember anyone giving money, but one man on the next street over worked for the dairy and gave out small cartons of chocolate milk ! We loved that ! I like smarties and jaw breakers and candy corn.
