RE: Steemians: What's your economic philosophy?

My Economic Philosophy
My economic/political viewpoint is that economics and politics are part of a stochastic process that evolves over time. Actors act and actors react. It is a dynamical system that is not predictable in the long term. Although, as an actor myself where my actions play a contributory part in the evolution of local and global economics and politics, I see it as pointless to make value judgments on goodness or badness regarding the state of the process at any given time or to decide how to act. Any action, which may cause greater good in the short term will produce greater harm in the long term, and vice versa. For example, an increasing standard of living, education, life expectancy, and so on has been accompanied by environmental destruction in the long term. Yin and Yang balance out in the end, regardless of what valiant judgements or efforts may be attempted by individual actors in the meanwhile. Actors have evolved to focus on near-term goals that are predictable and that are of expected short-term benefit. But the long term will suffer as the result of the concomitant unintended consequences. The result is a messy blend of counter-intuitive game theoretic dynamics, such as the Tragedy of the Commons, and Mutually Assured Destruction. On an emotional level, I am a libertarian/socialist/anarchist, but analytically, I am passive Laissez-Faire. I hope for reduced suffering but I know that we are misguided by our illusion of control. I speak out in emotional response. But intellectually, I have pretty much become nothing more than a curious observer. I mostly just speak out against economic/political fraud and little else. Anyone want to debate with me on Google Hangouts?
