RE: A glimpse of what's to come

The whole steem-engine thing really makes me wonder: Couldn't most of the EIP be implemented with a token instead of changes to the STEEM blockchain? The advantage would be that the market would then decide the strength and impact of the change.

Maybe I'm oversimplifying, but what if we were to:

  • Keep the reward curve and author/curator split as they are.
  • Make a curator token that is paid 100% to curators.
  • Make a success coin that is pays according to a strongly expressed reward curve
  • Reduce the standard reward pool in sync with the split between STEEM and the two tokens that would be needed to reach EIP level.
  • Let the market correct the EIP as the market sees fit.

A token approach to the downvote pool obviously wouldn't be an option, but the 50/50 split and the reward curve, I think should be possible as steem-engine tokens. Or am I missing something essential?
