Amazing Grace (1)
1 Samuel 17:42-43
[42]And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.
[43]And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves?
Reading through the above passage this morning all alone in my room, I couldn't help it but burst into laughter because its funny so to say.
What Goliath was saying is true, it is illogical in common sense, because how will a David who was too young to be a soldier or even be at battle field, don't forget that his eldest brother Eliab even scolded him for coming to battle field will now be bold enough to face a dreadful born warrior called Goliath, whom none of the Israelites army generals dare face. Was asking myself where was the Veteran great general Joab of Israelites ?? No where to be found.
But Goliath was foolished, he didn't know the act of God of Israel he's in war with, it was too late for him to know what's going on because God has handed him over to David he was eventually killed and his head chopped off .
It's the amazing grace of God that is working in the life of David, that was the reason why he was able to overcome the challenges that arises at the point of his turning point.
Amazing grace helps you do what you are not meant to do. Ask for that Grace this morning and it shall be well with you IJN. Amen.
