People are always debating whether the ideal of work ethic should be working smart and optimizing or working hard and hustling.
Well, it's an odd debate because arguing either side implies that the other side is less useful when that is not the case. Working hard and working smart go hand in hand for achieving the best results. If you only do one or the other then you can only beat someone on your level or below whereas if you are doing both you have set yourself up to have the most potential to succeed.
I get that this can mean different things to different people, but the core message here is that you need both.
What do you think about these two different perspectives on work ethic? Should one be favored over the other? Should we strive for balance? Do they even matter?

I think you should have a perfect balance of working hard and smart. You should incorporate both for best results. Awesome thumbnail, by the way.
I totally agree! And thanks so much :)
I think both are important, you are right. But the more you work hard, the more you start to be smart and by time you will not need that hard work and the smart work will work for you. lol ☺
Yes, but what I said in the video is that even if you get there, the other person doing what you do who keeps working hard will always get ahead.
Working smart
Why's that?
I am working hard in my life..But unfortunately i haven't got any better success yet...
Then you are only doing half of what is needed. Working hard is the start, now it's time to optimize that work and work smart too
