Lesson 17. It’s high time we talk about TIME! This is the Moving Metronome Drill. Remember to use your metronome.
This is a series of short bass lessons that are geared toward the beginner and intermediate upright bass student. In this series I will teach you the fundamentals of great bass playing like right and left hand technique, posture, time, scales and arpeggios, pitch, the basics of building a bass line, and how to combine these skills to make music.
By keeping these lessons all around a minute long it will be easier for you to find the info that you need, get the point, and practice on your own without getting distracted by extra information.
Each week I will focus on a different fundamental starting on Monday with the introduction and posting a lesson per day. Each of these fundamentals requires more than a day of practice so keep practicing what you’ve learned already and build on it and don’t hesitate to refer back to older lessons, repetition is key.

I use a metronome for everything, even to boil an egg, to make a point, or to put my children to sleep.

Hah. Thats a brilliant way to get the kids to sleep and get them grooving early =). Metronomes are dope, it’s wierd that some people don’t like them.

I don’t know what home is man. I haven’t been in one spot long enough for almost 20 years now unfortunately.
I’m In London atm but actually moving tomorrow to the country side. Hence the recent radio silence.
We will have to move again sometime before june because its a temporary spot and i dont know where that will be to. We’ll see.
