In the eyes of #SteemSilverGold, the Steem Round is a whole different animal. This Steem community is a unique one in that there are hundreds of thousands of users from all over the globe. Some of us are stackers, while others may have never owned an ounce of silver in our lives. All of us though are Steemians and the desire to promote and own anything associated with Steem is elevated, especially if it is something that has intrinsic value, such as a Silver round.
Who @steemsilverround Is!
In case you haven't heard yet, this account was created for the Steem Silver Round. When the guys that brought you the 2017 Steem Silver Round (@phelimint, @ejr, and @sevinwilson) were discussing the 2018 Silver Steem Round, we thought it would be an awesome idea to help crowdfund some of the expenses for this round and future rounds down the road.
Why We Are Crowdfunding the Steem Round!
Very rarely can Silver or Gold be bought at the current (spot) price as there is often a premium attached to it. Sometimes it is $1 or less per ounce and others times it can be quite high if it is a numismatic or American Silver Eagle, Canadian Maple, etc. There are many costs associated with the creation of the Steem Round other than the cost of the silver. Here are a few:
- Artwork
- Die Modeling (3D) & Creations
- Fabrication
- Serial Numbers
- Coin Capsules
- Certificate of Authenticity (COA)
As you can see, this list is fairly long. Some of these costs are fixed (artwork & die modeling/creation), while others are variable (fabrication, engraving of serial numbers, coin capsules, and certificate of authenticity). By helping to crowdfund the Steem Silver Round, we are able to offset some of these costs in order to get the ultimate price per coin as low as possible.
How We Are Crowdfunding the Steem Silver Round!
If you look at our wallet, we currently have received some Steem and Steem Dollars from others users here on the Steem platform. Some people are writing posts about the round or doing fundraising posts, while others are holding raffles of 2017 Steem Silver Rounds or other Silver pieces and donating the proceeds to @SteemSilverRound. There have also been quite a few users who have just donated some Steem/Steem Dollars.
How You Can Help
There are many things that you can do in order to help crowdfund the Steem Silver Round. We appreciate every donation we have received thus far! As you have seen from other users, you can:
- Write a post about the round and send the Steem Dollars earned from it to @steemsilverround
- Hold a raffle or giveaway and donate the proceeds to @steemsilverround
- Participate in a raffle held by another Steemian benefitting @steemsilverround
- Send some Steem or Steem Dollars to @steemsilverround

I love the crowdsale idea! I’ve wanted a Steem round since I first saw them in early 2017, but I always missed out for one reason or another.
I have the capabilities to create my own silver rounds which I intend on pursuing when time permits me, but it's not the same.
I must own an original manufactured by the same crew that started it all, otherwise, it's not the same. If I'm not supporting the members of Steemit first then I'm failing our community.
I shall begin funneling Steem & SBD your way in the form of direct donations and post rewards. Following • Resteemed • UpVoted & shared on the three social networks as well.
