What is dVPN – it translates to Decentralized Virtual Private Network and it means a VPN that has decentralized “exit nodes” from which you can obtain new IP and from users that connect to these nodes.
First off I want to address some issues around blockchain based VPN services and then I am going to list 3 projects and tell something small about them. Things to consider: Many people jump on the hyped words such as machine learning, AI, blockchain and other terms. Which is why you should be cautious here as well. If you are interested in running a node to earn some extra buck for sharing your internet connection you can! But be warned that you don’t know what things other people might want to do with your connection. Of course that it is raw estimate that like 10% or less of VPN providers traffic is something illegal it could happen to you. Because of this all of these VPN technologies around blockchain have some way of logging the information. Same as when VPN providers state that they don’t log anything, trust me they do, they may delete their logs after some time period but they do have them.
Remember there is a risk associated with running your own exit node to earn cryptocurrency. Depending on your country jurisdictions you might be even required to fill some kind of paperwork before even running one.

Mysterium is running and available for use tight now. They are based token on the ethereum network.
Lethean
Lethean has its own blockchain and it is based on Monero to be able to stand as an privacy coin as well as private VPN for people.
Here is the deal today when everything is monitored about what you do it is becoming more difficult to protect our privacy rights. What people have discovered is that the information about every individual is crucial because if you know persons behavior it is then much easier to sell to that person something or yet persuade him or her into doing something that you want. Where internet providers keep logs of everything you do to the websites that track you – how can you really become invisible?
VPNs give us an opportunity to view some content that is blocked for us or to simply “hide” what we are doing by routing via different IP. Although when we say VPN you should not think that you are well protected. I personally know people that use VPN and they don’t change the way they use their computer – they have their cookies avaliable within their browser which is how some websites track them etc. If you want to use VPN you should make sure to educate yourself a bit more about privacyon the internet, a good start could be privacytools and their reddit as well.
