The fried rice, which literally means "fried rice" in Indonesian, can refer only to pre-cooked fried rice, foods including small amounts of cooking oil or margarine, usually flavored with sweet soy sauce, onion, onion white, shrimp shrimp, tamarind and chilli and accompanied by other ingredients, especially eggs, chicken and shrimp. There are also other types of fried rice made together with salted (dried salted fish) which is also popular throughout Indonesia. Fried rice is sometimes described as Indonesian stir-fried rice, [1] [2] though also popular in Southeast Asia. Outside the Malay Archipelago, it has gained popularity through Indonesian influence in Sri Lanka [3] and through Indonesian immigrant communities in Suriname [4] and the Netherlands. [5] It is distinguished from other Asian fried rice recipes with aromatic, earthy and smoky flavor, rich in sweet soy sauce and shrimp powder paste, and tastes stronger and spicier than Chinese fried rice.
