Mie aceh is a spicy noodle dish typical of Aceh in Indonesia. Thick yellow noodles with sliced beef, mutton or seafood served in a savory and spicy curry-type soup. Mie aceh is usually sprinkled with fried onions and served with emping, pieces of red onion, cucumber, and lime.
The governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, once hunted Acehnese noodles on the outskirts of Jakarta streets. Anies Baswedan said "Aceh noodles are delicious. The spices are bold: you can see the color of the spices and when you eat them you feel like there is a delicious sting of Nusantara spices".
Anies Baswedan said that he had not tasted the typical Acehnese cuisine for a long time. After returning from work, Anies Baswedan then asked his aide to pull over and then enjoy Aceh Noodles at one of the roadside stalls. Mie Aceh is one of the typical cuisines of Aceh which is now available in various cities such as Medan, Jakarta and various other cities.
