My fear

@bitcoingodmode posted the following post in the WeedCash Network 17 days ago:
I Quit My Job To Become A NFT Developer.

He wrote the following in the post:

My fear is that I will start releasing NFTs and will get ZERO feedback, as in, not only will they not be purchased, but they will be ignored.

I wrote the following today in a reply:
"If you publish them only on the Hive blockchain, then they probably will be ignored or overlooked, just like this post and the most of the posts on this blockchain. 17 days since posting, and 0 comments so far.

By the way, I accidentally found your post by searching for brain teasers on Ecency."

And some people seemingly genuinely asks why people are leaving this platform. Because of the lack of real human interaction. Because of their disappointment. This is a perfect example. But anyone can see it by looking around the posts on the platform. Just some people do not like to admit the truth. Some people even go as far as taking my statement about the lack of real human comments as an offense. But this is not an offense. This is simply a fact.

By the way, the above mentioned post is long and well written. I think that it should deserve some comments.

But who am I to say? Usually my (and the most of the people's) posts are also do not (or rarely) get comments, so probably this post will also be ignored or overlooked.

This is probably mostly the result of the fact that there are many content creators, but only a few content consumers on the Hive blockchain. And the automated curation makes this even worse. Many curators do not even see what they curate.

And some people say that all I do is complaining. This is not true. Nowadays I am in the top 10 in the engagement league by genuinely, naturally interacting with others. I also support people by giving tokens (for example pizza) to people, who comment.

Engaging with others does not really help getting engagement on your posts. This is my personal experience.

But whales always get engagement. And they get a lot.

And some people say that this is a decentralized platform.
No, it is not decentralized. It is obviously centralized. It is centralized around the whales. Anyone, who look around can see it.

And again. These are facts, not offense to anyone.

The thing about content consumers is that they don't always reply. Looking at how I scroll through Instagram for example, I consume plenty of content, read texts, even comments, but rarely do I have anything interesting to say. I also read on Hive, but don't comment a lot, because I'm really not that social. I love writing and reading. That's it! You can't force people into being something they're not and you really should get over this for your own peace of mind.

Also, consuming content doesn't mean big upvotes. Most accounts here don't have big upvotes and if you upvote every single post you read, your votes don't give much either. I don't have nearly enough voting power to properly reward every good post I see. So yeah, this is no perfect platform that gives everything to everyone in equal amounts and as I said before, it's just like the real world: Not fair. The biggest difference here is that you might earn a little something for your effort, whereas everywhere else online, big companies earn from you and you just get adds to scroll through.

I think that it is worth to mention a part of his reply to my comment from that post, because it tells a lot about the Hive blockchain:

I published this article a couple other places and I saw how popular it was. it has over 17,000 views on one of the other forums I published on. but thanks for the heads up on that, I'm not publishing any of my nifties on hive. This blockchain is half dead in my opinion. Everything I've tried on here, nothing catches heat and I know how to write I mean I'm not an author but I mean I can write a nice tail and something funny I mean I got more comments on this story on publisher0x and read.cash then I have on all my posts combined on hive. I was able to get some success on steemit, being a so-called nobody, but once the blockchain split is when everything got chaotic. I mean unless there's something I'm missing here I don't know what I'm doing wrong not to get more thumbs up on a decent post cuz I know like I said I published this on publish ox it got 4,000 views in 2 days about 10 people commented and it was trending on the site for like a week.

By the way, YouTube is also much better. Even the smallest YouTubers receive comments. The truth is in his above mentioned reply. This blockchain is half dead.

The biggest difference here is that you might earn a little something for your effort, whereas everywhere else online, big companies earn from you and you just get adds to scroll through.

This is also not true. You can earn money both on YouTube and on Blogger/Blogspot through AdSense monetization and other partnerships and promotions. And there are other opportunities as well.

Yes, there are ways to monetize through other platforms, but that's usually after you've put a lot of work in, whereas here, you're able to earn right away. But true, if you're able to put in the work and gather a following, you might be better off somewhere else in the long run. Crypto isn't the most stable way to earn an income either.

I think visibility here is hard and understanding all of the different parts of the blockchain is just as hard. I've been poking around on a few other front-ends and I've tried different communities and so far all I can say is: For visibility and upvotes, pick the right communities and topics.

Comments... well I stick by what I said, most consumers just consume without dropping a comment, no matter what platform they're on. No different on Youtube, but Youtube videos thrive on searches and your video can stay relevant that way. Here... not so much I guess. Here it's more about followers and communities.

Oh and yeah, I don't know anything about NFT's, but I do know that, unless you're already wildy successful here, I wouldn't sell mine on this platform.

...but don't comment a lot, because I'm really not that social.

I've been meaning to say something about that, get over it. Comment sections without you suck!!

No you suck!

Oh, I mean, thank you! I do try sometimes. But hey, here I was, thinking I missed yet another one of your posts, but you didn't post any! So I feel safe to say I'm okay for now.

The weirdest thing is happening. Oh, thanks for checking by the way. 💖

It's been gradually happening over time and I can't get these articles I have to finish. I tried again yesterday and it feels like everything I have gets to about the 2/3 mark and I go ______________

Not sure why that's happening.

Aah, why not throw something easy and unimaginative in there to try and get things going again. Not everything has to be high-standing literature.

Have I told you lately you're a sweetheart? You probably didn't hear me.

Well thank you! Did you whisper it?

I've never said that and I don't know anyone who's said that but I've caught several of your comments and you do complain a lot.

Spoiler alert—I have no problem with it. Let'er rip!

you do complain a lot.

Let us admit it, I complain a lot with reason and completely rightfully.

I have no problem with it.

Me too. Otherwise I would not complain.

By the way, I also try to help a lot. I would really like to see the success of this platform.

I can only specifically remember two of your recent 'complaints.' Without mentioning specifics, both are justified in my opinion. #merit.
