Opposition being, opposite the sun. This last total lunar eclipse is very unique in that it is the only one in the 20th and the 21st century where it occurs with mars in opposition, so it was an extremely rare siting indeed.
Focused on the dark area, leaving the light area overexposed.
It was unusual to see those two red objects in very close proximity
This is the first photograph of the red moon I have seen anywhere. It was never visible here. 🐓🐓
