As a natural result of the world's economic policies, it is inevitable that our jobs will be lost to Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and Robots. It took well over 100 years to finally get to this point but it is quickly upon us. What is upon us? The age of no jobs and a technological economy that will not need humans.
The process was a slow creep to get where we are. There are many facets in life that brought us to this place and point in time. Corporation have one sole purpose and that is to continually make profits. If anything gets in their way of making such profits, than the obstacle will be dealt with. Any basic economic class will quickly point out that human labor is an expensive part of any corporation. It is in the "best" interest for corporations to cut labor costs. As technology improves between computers and robots, lay offs of human workers can proceed. There has also been the phenomenon of shipping jobs to less expensive workers in Mexico and Asia as well as importing I.T. workers from India/Pakistan or shipping call centers to those regions to cut costs.
Many experts have predicted that 80% of all jobs globally will be eliminated in 10 years. What a staggering statistic. 80% of all of us, will have our jobs replaced by technologies such as robots, A.I. and the blockchain. This is why we are hearing more and more about a Universal Basic Income (U.B.I.). Symposiums on this subject have been suggesting that every global citizen receive around $1000.00 to $1200.00 per month for living expenses. Everyone gets to keep this income even if they hold jobs and are working. The world governments know that it is only a matter of time before we hit this projected 10 years and 80% of all human jobs being replaced with A.I., Robots and the blockchain. Studies are being conducted right now about U.B.I. and just what the proper monthly allowances should be for people to survive on.
Larger issues will be facing society in the next decade more than just providing a U.B.I. Humans need a feeling of self worth. Many people identify as to who they are based on what their career or occupation is. Take employment away from 80% of the population and we will have serious mental and emotional issues occurring. I often think of how true the Pixar movie Wall- E just may turn out to be if humans are no longer needed to work on a daily bases. Another thought that I have had, is what if the "global elite" decide that the mass population is no longer needed and they institute a Logan's Run type scenario where people are terminated once they reach age 30?
Technology is growing faster than the speed of light. It always seems that governments are 10 to 20 years behind addressing all societal issues. This issue of employment and jobs being eliminated by technology is another example of governments being asleep at the switch or behind the 8 ball. What to do about this potential coming dilemma? I am not sure myself. I am trying to think, right now, as to what I can do, to re-invent myself by becoming relevant in the next decade. What can I do or what service can I provide that a robot or A.I. can not do. I am also trying to develop multiple streams of income, so that if we do get a U.B.I., I will have more money coming in than just the standard global income.
Perhaps you have ideas. I would love to hear your thoughts on what do do. I would also like to hear if you agree with the projection of 80% of all jobs being replaced by technology. Feel free to reply, I want to hear your thoughts.

You are probably right. I am just amazed at the speed at which things are changing. I am still trying to figure out how to position myself for what is coming with A.I., Robots and crypto currencies. I am afraid if I get it wrong I will be in serious trouble.

Unfortunately most of us yes. A small portion 20% to 25% will have jobs that is it. That is why I am trying to figure out what to do and I worry about my kids (who are still in school). Owning Bitcoin and some other crypto's should help I think
Well may be at that time new jobs may be created by the new technology... and owning BTC or any other crypto is smart move
