I believe the market is oversold and would not be surprised by a sharp drop in stock prices.
But the reasons you are giving don't come off as sound.
For example, I don't think stock exchanges delist companies just because their stock falls.
Yahoo says that GE had 123.03B in revenue and a PE of $12.44 .
The reduction in food stamps would be troubling if the job numbers were flat. CNN reports that there are more jobs than people actively seeking employment. Cutting food stamps might force people to seek employment.
There are troubling things in our economy. The corruption on wall street is a big problem. The two main concerns brought up (GE and Food Stamps) aren't among them.
