RE: How To: Starting Fruit & Nut Trees from Seed in a Temperate Climate

in #ecotrain8 years ago

Another gem of a post! We can all do this one! I love trees with a passion and can't help but pot all the accidental seedlings I find in my minature garden to make minature (not quite bonsai) trees. I am in two minds about that always, because there is nothing more gratifyinig than letting a tree grow to its full height, girth and spread. But through my mini trees I still manage to connect to their soul group and wish them well on a larger scale.
Your tree sowing motivations are beautifully meditative and make all the difference. You should be in the woods for all the trees soon!

I agree!
gem indeed!
I do the same - seeds and seeds and some cuttings sometimes

Thanks @sukhasanasister! I haven't delved deeply into bonsai trees (only some initial prunings), but I definitely feel an affinity for them when I see them in photos or in person. I can imagine how there is so much beauty, meditation, creativity and connection that comes out of the art of bonsai. It seems like there infinitely many ways a tree can express itself through natural or human intervention. Thank you for your kind wishes... I do hope to be in the woods much more often this year appreciating nature and finding inspiration :)
