What an important topic to post about! Agreed that this is lacking in most school settings, and in the US in particular the focus is becoming more and more on standardized tests and standardized measures of achievement, which (IMO) is probably even directly counter to social/emotional education. You have provided a lot of food for thought for me personally as a parent of young boys as well.
