The play presents the story of two villages joined by love, separated by hearsay and reunited by the past with the help of the women who have refused to be part of the war.
The play is about kana and emi. Two villages sharing a common boundary who use to live together like same community but went to ear against each other because kugbo the friend to adole (the king of kana village) lied to adole that the people of emi where his father's slave and because his father loved one of his slave so much, he gave him part of his village to dwell and went and told angbashimu (the king of emi village) the same thing and maid them to go on war against each other. There the ogalangon priest warned them not to let a small matter turn their head but they refused and went ahead with the war which lead to the murder of the angbansimu unknowingly was adole's mother and princess apwawa angbasimu's sister and the destruction of the land and other things like rape, starvation etc.
The women with the help o the priest invited the both kings to the shrine of oganlagon and it was reviled to them that kugbo was lying to them and that the fathers were friend so close and they wanted to keep their friendship for ever so they exchanged their first sons adole and angbashimu to sill the pact of their love and friendship.
They both realize their mistakes and the outcome of their action because adole's flows was anger and angbashimu's own is pride. This can be seen in movement four during the festival scene where angbashimu was boosting of how his village has been of great assistance to kana and adole's reaction showed his short temper and that lead to the war between the two villages which lead to loss of live and properties.
The play represent our present country where every tribe and religion frights others forgetting the fact that we are one in one way or the other.
The play ends with the reunion of the two villages both the damage is already done and those who lost their life are gone forever because the choose violence over dialogue they ended up in a war against each other.
