The deep space

in #education9 years ago

Hello Steemians!

Today I'm writing about the deep space!

It is also known as the outer space or just simply space.

In 350. BCE Aristotle made the horror vacui principle which suggested that "Nature abhors vacuum", that there is no absolute vacuum.

Aristotle

The deep space is the void between every object in the Universe that consists of a hard vacuum.

The research and observation show that in the most galaxies, 90 % of the mass accounts to dark matter, an unidentified type of matter.

The hard vacuum contains low density particles, mostly the plasma of hydrogen and helium, but it also contains electromagnetic radiation, dust particles, magnetic fields neutrinos and cosmic rays.

The deep space has different regions which are defined by the atmospheres within them.

Aurora australis - Discovery, May 1991.

The first region is the so called "Geospace" which extends from the atmosphere to the outer magnetic field of Earth.

Geospace

The next region is the Interplanetary medium, about which i have written a post not so long ago, it is the space between the objects in the Solar System.

Up next is the Interstellar medium, the space between all the stars within a galaxy.

Last but not least is the region called Intergalactic space, which is the space that is stretching through the wast distances between the galaxies in the Universe.

The temperature of the outer space is set by the background radiation of the Big Bang and has a base of -270°C.

The first man in the outer space, entering it's Geospace, was Yuri Gagarin in 1961.

Yuri Gagarin - Sweden, 1964.

Hope you enjoyed today's exploration of the deep space!
