I noticed you have deleted the image in question. You have done the right thing.

This was the second time in the recent past that you have copy/pasted content which does not belong to you: (1).

Next time, I will not warn you, I will flag you right away, and expose your behavior to other users by putting you on my blacklist.

It does not matter if you later correct your post. You must never copy/paste content again.

Don’t hesitate to ask if you are unsure what kind of content is accepted on Steemit and what isn’t. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Steemit is a friendly community. You can also ask the guys at steemcleaners. They have a chat server on Discord.

If someone send me any picture on whatsapp so should I upload on steemit?

Thank you for asking.

Actually, the basic rule of thumb is quite simple:

  • If you have created the content (an image / artwork / photo / video / piece of text) yourself: 👍 Yes, you can use it on Steemit.
  • If you have found the content on the internet: 😡 No, you should not use it on Steemit, because you are not the original creator.
  • If you have received the content via e-mail / message / whatsapp message: 😡 No, you should not use it on Steemit, because you are not the original creator.

But there is a gray zone area as well.

  • IF you have created a big piece of content by yourself (for example, a long piece of text), you may use a smaller piece of content (for example, a small image) to illustrate the main piece of content, IF you can proof that you are allowed to use the “smaller piece”, if you state that it was not created by you, if you name the original creator and cite (and link) the source. The Steemit community expects that about 80% of a post is made by you.

For example, if you make a long post about a holiday, you may use a “free for commercial use” image from Pexels.com or Pixabay.com to illustrate it, if you name, cite, and link the original website.

To come back to your question: if you receive some content via e-mail / message / whatsapp message, typically you do not know the original creator. Therefore, in this case, you cannot use this “gray zone” rule, and 😡 no, you cannot use the image.

If you do not obey these rules, you are violating Steemit community anti-spam rules which will get you flagged by the community, and you are also violating international copyright laws which will get you in serious legal trouble. Copy/pasting the content others have made is called plagiarism and is a serious offense.

In fact, the Steemit community anti-spam rules are explained in the Steemit FAQ which you really should read.

Can I upload screenshot of Google map for my blog

In my previous comment I have explained that Steemit is exclusively for publishing original content but that you may use content from an external source to accompany your own main content, IF you have the right to use it, and if you properly cite and link the source.

Please refer to Google to find out if you have the right to use Google Maps screenshots:

Next time, please make the effort and search for this kind of information online for yourself, thank you.

This image is copy/pasted off another website with some changes applied to the image, but without a significant contribution of original content.

Copy/pasting content without consent of the original creator is potentially illegal. Moreover, posting it on Steemit with the intention to make money of it is highly unethical.

Repeated copy/pasting, plagiarism or tag abuse is considered spam. Spam is discouraged by the community and may result in action from steemcleaners or other users. (based on a quote from steemcleaners)

On Steemit, you get paid for creating valuable original content, i.e. your own work, not for copying the existing work of others. This is the very essence of what keeps the Steemit economy strong and keeps the Steem currencies from devaluation by inflation. By posting copy/pasted content, you are contributing to the destruction of the very basis of the Steemit economy.

  • I have reported you to steemcleaners.
  • You have already posted copy/pasted content in the recent past: (1).
  • If you continue to post copy/pasted content, I will report you to steemcleaners again, I will flag you, and expose your behavior to other users.

If you feel like this warning is in error, please respond with proof that you are the original creator of this content or an explanation as to why your post represents a significant contribution of your own original content over the original work and proof that you are allowed to use the original work.
