I am no fan of Maureen Dowd but she has captured the Hillary scam perfectly. A must-read for all progressives, left-leaning, well-intentioned friends of the people -- the very same Hillary insists she will rescue from all vagaries, most of which have been inflicted upon them by her supposed side of politics. The choice in November is impossible. No Donald and, most definitely, no Hillary.

I feel like you were being sarcastic when you asked for enlightenment. But I'll give you my take as briefly as possible nonetheless.
Everything about Trump's campaign has disturbed me. I don't sit around pondering what it means to 'be an American' but the way Trump has been presenting himself is antithetical to my sense of who we are and what we stand for.
I need to waste more of your time to explain that although I'm a left leaning indipendant, I had no such feelings about Romney, McCain, Bush JR, (who started a war I hated,) Dole, Bush SR, Reagan, or Nixon.
In 2012, I was all like "if Romney wins we're fuuuucked!" and now I realize I was being a little melodramatic bitch. I wouldn't have lost any sleep during a Romney administration. He'd have been fine. The thought of a Trump victory has me actually nervous, which I've never felt in any other presidencial campaign.
I'm not saying Hillary Clinton is anything close to a saint. But compared to some people on steemit, (Hi anarchists,) my political views are conventional, and if I can't have Obama for four more years, the closest I can get is Hillary.
