I've never used Zoom. Probably won't unless I am forced to. I work in a field where privacy is important. Just like health care has HIPPA, we have FERPA for student safety. I am not saying Google is perfect, but our GSuite licensing specifically addresses FERPA and protects our students. They might sell everyone's data that owns a Gmail account, but they are smart enough not to touch the GSuite stuff. For that reason and several others we will be sticking with Google Meet for our conferencing.

Fair enough. There are various options out there, but people say that if the product is free then they are probably making money from your data.

As far as I know the Keybase chat is very secure, but they were not likely to do audio or video.
