What is a building energy certificate?
A building energy certificate is a document that assesses the building's energy balance and identifies opportunities for energy savings and reducing operational costs. The certificate can be issued no sooner than 3 years after the building is put into operation and is registered in the Construction Information System (BIS).
When is a building energy certificate required?
It is mandatory:
•For sales, rental, or leasing transactions.
•For state and municipal buildings over 250m².
•To receive EU funding.
•If the owner voluntarily chooses to obtain it.
When is a building energy certificate not required?
It is not needed for:
•Private homes without heating.
•Summer cottages and garden houses.
•Cultural monuments and churches.
•Very small buildings (less than 50m²) and temporary structures.
How to obtain a building energy certificate?

Differences Between Temporary and Final Energy Certificates:
•Temporary Energy Certificate is valid for 3 years and is used when the building is handed over for use.
•Final Energy Certificate is valid for 10 years, based on both calculations and measured data, and includes recommendations for improving energy efficiency.
